Scott Lang was the second hero to take on the role of Ant-Man, stealing the costume from its creator Hank Pym to try to save his daughter Cassie's life. Like the original Ant-Man, he could Shrink in size and control ants. After a spell in the Fantastic Four Lang joined the Avengers. He was a vital member of the team until tragedy struck and he was killed by an exploding Jake of Hearts during the scarlet Witch's breakdown and attack on her teammates.
